Youth Soccer

Greenville Sports League offers a Youth Soccer league for children ages 3-14. Age is determined as of July 31 of the current year. All age divisions will be split into girls' and boys' divisions. Cost is $45 per player, and teams will be formed through our Coach Look/Draft process for all divisions with the exception of 6 & under and 4 & under which teams will be formed in the Parks and Recreation office.

4 & under division (Ages 3-4) "Bumper Ball"
The purpose of this division is to be a developmental recreational league that is an introduction to socialization and organized play. Fun and family involvement are essential with the focus on developing an interest for the game of soccer. As a developmental recreational league, no score of standings are kept.

6 & under division (Ages 5-6)

The purpose of this division is to be a developmental recreational league with a focus on developing basic fundamental skills such as kicking, ball control, and a basic understanding of soccer rules while keeping the games fun for the athletes.  As a developmental recreational league, no score or standings are kept.

8 & under division (Ages 7-8)
The purpose of this division is to be an introduction to competitive play. The focus should be on improving the confidence and comfort on the field while also continuing development of fundamental skills, such as running, passing, and ball control. Players should begin to learn basic situational concepts. 

10 & under division (Ages 9-10)
The purpose of this division is to be a continuation of fundamental skills developmental with a higher focus on team and situational awareness.  Introduction to advanced soccer concepts begins and players begin to develop greater soccer IQ. Play in multiple positions encouraged for overall skill development. 

12 & under division (Ages 11-12)
The purpose of this division is to focus on continuing to develop fundamental skills while increasing field and situational awareness. Advanced skill development also takes place and players begin defining their key skill positions.

14 & under division (Ages 13-14)
This is the last development stage before secondary competition.  Skill development and advance soccer strategy are a priority in order to prepare for the high school competition level.
