    Country music artist. He wrote Tanya Tucker’s 1974 US country number 1, ‘Would You Lay With Me (In A Field Of Stone)?’. In 1978 Johnny Paycheck had a US country number 1 with Coe’s ‘Take This Job And Shove It’, which inspired a film of the same title in 1981, and Coe’s own successes included the witty ‘Divers Do It Deeper’ (1978), ‘Jack Daniels If You Please’ (1979), ‘Now I Lay Me Down To Cheat’ (1982), ‘The Ride’ (1983), which conjures up a meeting between Coe and Hank Williams, and ‘Mona Lisa’s Lost Her Smile’ (1984), which reached number 2 on the US country charts, his highest position as a performer. Recordings with other performers include ‘Don’t Cry Darlin” and ‘This Bottle (In My Hand)’ with George Jones, ‘I’ve Already Cheated On You’ with Willie Nelson, and ‘Get A Little Dirt On Your Hands’ with Bill Anderson.

  1. Summer Slam Sports Camp Registration

    March 27 - August 6

    The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department, Greenville High School, and Boys & Girls Club of Hunt County have partnered again this year to bring the community youth together in a fun and active environment. Camps include Girl's Basketball, Girl's Softball, Boy's Basketball, Tennis, Girl's Volleyball, and Football. All campers will receive a t-shirt, tote bag, and professional instruction from Greenville ISD coaches.   2. Dog Training Lessons

    April 13, 6:00 PM - May 18 @ Graham Park Pavilion

    Join us Monday nights for a six-week dog training course. The obedience training will cover walking and loose leash training along with "sit-come-stay" commands. Dogs must be at least 9 weeks old and current on all shots.

    Come join the City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department and Keep Greenville Beautiful to celebrate Greenville's 20th anniversary as a Tree City USA. The Arbor Day Celebration will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, April 24th at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center. This annual celebration helps educate the community on the importance of trees and features guest speakers, elementary school entertainment, and much more. See you there!

  6. Youth Summer Basketball Registration

    April 27 - June 14

    The City of Greenville Parks and Recreation Department now offers a fun fast pace youth summer basketball program available to both boys and girls ages 5 to 12. Games will be played on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings with practices the two weeks prior to games starting. Cost is $35 per player.
