    What is Exploring? Exploring is Learning for Life’s career education program for young men and women basically of high school age. Fire & Emergency Services Exploring is a hands-on program that exposes participants to many career experiences, leadership opportunities, and community service activities. The primary goals of the program are to help young adults choose a career path within fire and emergency services and to challenge them to become responsible citizens of their communities and country. Meetings are one evening a month and one Saturday a month. (1st Saturday and previous Wednesday). The Fire & Emergency Service Career Exploring program is very affordable with participation fees at $25 per year (pro-rated). Special activities, uniforms, events, leadership academies and conferences may cost more and would be determined by the local Exploring post. Scholarships and fundraising opportunities by the Post are available!

Parks & Recreation

  1. Summer Slam Sports Camp Registration

    March 27 - August 6

    The Greenville Parks and Recreation Department, Greenville High School, and Boys & Girls Club of Hunt County have partnered again this year to bring the community youth together in a fun and active environment. Camps include Girl's Basketball, Girl's Softball, Boy's Basketball, Tennis, Girl's Volleyball, and Football. All campers will receive a t-shirt, tote bag, and professional instruction from Greenville ISD coaches.   2. Adult Soccer Registration

    June 15 - August 2

    Join our adult soccer league with a group of friends, co-workers or organizational group. Teams should consist of 10 to 20 players. Players must be 16 years of age or older to participate in any adult league. Cost per team is $300. League nights are Monday/Tuesday for coed soccer and Thursday for women's soccer. The Parks and Recreation Department will provide officials and will be awarding the winning team with a T-shirt at the conclusion of the league.   3. Youth Flag Football and Cheerleading Registration

    June 29 - August 2 @ 2821 Washington Street

    The City of Greenville offers non-contact flag football leagues designed for girls and boys between the ages of 5 and 12. Youth flag football encourages the development of agility, coordination, and teamwork, along with the basic principles of football. Cheerleading instruction will be offered for youth ages 5-12. Cheerleaders will cheer at Youth Flag Football games on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Cost is $35 per child. Ages divisions are determined by ages as of September 1, 2015.   4. Youth Volleyball Registration

    June 29 - August 2 @ 2821 Washington Street

    The City of Greenville offers volleyball leagues designed for girls between the ages of 7 and 12. Youth volleyball enhances players' leadership and teamwork skills as well as coordination and basic understanding of volleyball and its components.Teams consist of 6 - 12 players and are sanctioned with the Texas Amateur Athletic Federation. Registration will open June 29th – August 2nd. Age groups will include 8U, 10U, and 12U. This year we are introducing a “2 hit league” for 10U and 12U. The 8U league will remain the same. Game days will be Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday at the Reecy Davis Recreation Center. Cost per child is $35 and includes a team uniform.

  5. Tennis Camp

    July 13, 8:00 AM - July 16, 11:00 AM @ Greenville High School Tennis Courts

    Greenville Parks and Recreation, Greenville Independent School District, and Boys and Girls Club of Hunt County have partnered to offer Summer Slam Sports Camps.     This July we’re celebrating 30 years of Park and Recreation Month! Come on out to Graham Park at 6:00 PM for an evening of family fun including Home Depot Kids Workshop and Movie in the Park! The Lego Movie sponsored by Collision Central will begin around 8:30. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs and blankets. See you there!

  7. Gale Hague Lone Star Express Band

    July 18, 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM @ Fletcher Warren Civic Center

    If you are 55 and over, join us for an evening of boot scooting fun at the Fletcher Warren Civic Center. The Gale Hague Lone Star Express Band will be performing some good ole classic country music the 3rd Saturday of each month. Bring your favorite finger food to share. Coffee and tea will be provided. Come make some new friends and practice your best country moves. Presented by Greenville Parks and Recreation.
