Gloria Peters-Mitchell, Municipal JudgeGloria Peters-Mitchell was appointed City of Greenville Municipal Judge in October 2007. She had previously served as Associate Municipal Judge since 2005.

Peters-Mitchell graduated from Greenville High School and attended Paris Junior College and East Texas State University. She has also attended the required Judicial Educational hours for the past 27 years. She was a board member of the Boys & Girls Club, MHMR, and served on the Child Fatality Review Committee. She is currently a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.

As Municipal Judge, she presides over bench trials, jury trials, juvenile cases, as well as handling show cause hearings and indigent hearings for the Municipal Court.

Before becoming Municipal Judge, Peters-Mitchell served as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 1, Place 1 in Hunt County for 24 years, becoming the first female to be elected as a Justice of the Peace for Hunt County. She has also served as Municipal Judge for Celeste, Caddo Mills, and Lone Oak.

Peters-Mitchell has two children, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and is married to Butch Mitchell. She is a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
