Neighborhood Awareness Program
Goals
The Community Development Department has identified over 80 neighborhoods within the City. More neighborhoods will be added as the City grows or as we learn about existing neighborhoods.
Goals of NAP include:
- To develop cooperative relationships between citizens and the City of Greenville
- To make citizens aware of code enforcement, construction, and police activities within their neighborhoods
- To improve the overall appearance and safety of neighborhoods within our community
Get Involved
Each month, neighborhood subscribers receive by email or mail a neighborhood map that includes the information on code enforcement, construction, demolition, and police activities that have occurred within their neighborhood during the previous month.
Sharing Ideas and IssuesNAP members are encouraged to work with City staff to identify new neighborhood issues and share information about ongoing issues. These citizens can serve as a point of contact for their neighborhoods.
Volunteering
NAP member may also volunteer to help the elderly and/or disabled in their neighborhood by assisting with mowing and maintaining their property. Beautification and landscaping improvements are encouraged by the City and will be supported where means permit.
